Alive is Naperville’s teen center. Centrally located, it provides teens a unique place to connect, discover and come alive! Their mission is to be a teen-led, teen-driven (TLTD) center focused on empowering the youth of today to become the impassioned, resilient leaders of tomorrow. They offer free drop-in hours after school and over the summer as well as a myriad of programs, classes and events, designed to build confident and resilient teens.
On any given day at the Alive Center, one will find teen-led tutoring, mentoring and clubs as well as life skill classes such as unstructured art and dance, nutrition and healthy cooking, stress management, open music venues, creative writing and just plain fun! Alive is the place to belong and learn important life skills. They are about new experiences and expanding minds!
Nabila Qadri and Rajveer Sokhey discuss “Teen Initiate” which is an innovative Teen-Led Teen-Driven (TLTD) program providing teens with support and a space to innovate and lead while empowering younger teens and tweens in the process. Whether it’s a Junior High Mentoring program or a Science Exploration Club or a Girl Empowerment Club, these programs allow high school students to stretch their leadership skills in areas they are passionate about.
