The Home Stretch// The Midwest Dream Squad

In 2014, The Basketball tournament was created as a 64 team open tourney with a $500,000 prize for the winning team. With each passing year, the competition and the prize money has been raised. Fans voted teams into the tournament, while a committee selected the teams they felt would have the best chance at succeeding in the tournament. This summer, a pair of former Neuqua Valley Wildcats joined forces to make a Dream run for the title. 2006 Neuqua Valley alumni, DiJon Knight acts as GM for the Midwest Dream Squad, and he helped lead his team to a suprise run to the Super 17 of the tournament a year ago. Now Dijon and the Dream Squad are back, and he recruited another former Wildcat, Dwayne Evans, a 2010 Neuqua grad to join the squad. With only a few weeks to prepare, The returning Dream Squad members and the 2016 newcomers had to come together to make another run at the two million dollar prize bag. Justin Cornwell has the story.
