Now you can catch your Naperville television news while on a train or working out or whenever you want. Naperville Community Television is proud to announce a new convenient way to watch its popular news program "Naperville News 17" - through podcasting on iTunes. The show can be accessed through the iTunes website store without charge. Hosted by Dolly McCarthy, "Naperville News 17" is both informative and entertaining. Naperville Mayor George Pradel is the number one fan and says he often watches later at night after returning from City Council meetings or other events. "The show is very popular," said Mayor Pradel. "I like to see all the great things going on in Naperville. It's all about Naperville."

Produced by NCTV17's Lindsey Theis, "Naperville News 17" is Naperville's only television news source. Featuring the people, places, and happenings of this community, the show gives a weekly snapshot of life in Naperville. "Our staff has worked very hard to bring this program to the community," says NCTV17 Executive Director Liz Spencer. "It really is a comprehensive and timely look at all sectors of the community." NCTV17 has established itself as a leader in community television and is always engaging in new technology to make its award-winning programming widely available. In March of 2007 NCTV17 became one of the first community television stations in the country to provide live simultaneous streaming of all its programming on NCTV17.com. Podcasts differ from streaming video by its ability to be subscribed to, automatically downloaded, and replayed when a new episode becomes available. Simply visit the iTunes website store and go to the podcast directory; look for NCTV17 or "Naperville News 17."

Some segments are also available on You Tube. And as always, "Naperville News 17" will continue to be available on Channel 17 or streaming at NCTV17.com. Additionally, each week's episode is available at all three Naperville Public Libraries. NCTV17 will soon make "Naperville Sports Weekly" available via podcast as well. "Naperville News 17" is supported through such community-minded sponsors as Advanced Healthcare Associates, Freedom Commons, Whole Foods Market, Naperville Trolley & Tours, Zano's and partially funded by a grant from the City of Naperville.

Naperville Community Television, Channel 17 provides a voice to educate, inform, preserve, entertain, assist, and celebrate one another through diverse programming that reflects the character and spirit of our community. NCTV17 was recently honored by the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce as the 2008 Not for Profit Organization of the Year. NCTV17 is located at 127 Ambassador Drive, Suite 103 in Naperville.
