Avantika Pandit, a Naperville resident who attended the October session said the dogs “were very kind and they were listening to me.” The dogs can bring a sense of calm to the nervous readers.
“Dogs do not correct, they don’t act bored, they might act a little sleepy but they’re a very good audience for emerging readers to practice their reading,” said Carla Eisley, co-coordinator of the program.
This program will occur monthly at one of the Naperville Public Libraries.
