They did, however, have to wait an extra day as the first ever Tex-Mex Festival, hosted by Calamos Investments, was delayed due to severe thunderstorms.
“This past evening it knocked down a lot of tents, but we re-created the village here and we are off and running,” said Scott Janess. Janess is the president of InPLAY events.
On the second day, fans enjoyed the breezy sounds of Asleep at the Wheel, and the funky groove of Poi Dog Pondering.
The smell of Mexican food and barbeque filled the City Gate Centre as people chowed down on food from Chick N’ Salsa Mexican Grill and Fire It Up.
Money brought in from the festival will go to DuPage PADS.
Those who had tickets for the event’s first day received a refund, in the form of free tickets for Naperville’s upcoming Wine Festival on August 24th and 25th.
