Naper Settlement Gets Artistic
For Annual Fine Art Fair
For the week of 2012-07-20
Paintings, sculptures, and glass designs were all on display at one of Illinois’ longest running art fairs.

Hundreds of locals gathered at Naper Settlement for the 53rd annual Fine Art Fair, put on by the Naperville Woman’s Club.

The free, two-day festival featured more than one hundred artists promoting their work.

“I think that art transcends all cultures. Hopefully it evokes an emotion when you see it, and it touches people,” said director Roxanne Lang. “That is why they come to see it. That is why they go to museums. That is why they to go art fairs. That is why they view it.”

David and Kim Lotton’s glasswork was crowned as the “best in show” and received a cash prize of $500.

Anne Hanley, whose artwork was featured on the cover of this year’s program, received a $300 cash prize for winning the NWC (Naperville Woman’s Club) award.

Proceed from the even will help raise money for local charities; along with funding a local collegiate art scholarship.
