Carjacking Investigation

The Naperville Police are investigating a Carjacking that took place yesterday around 8:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Ann Reid Early Childhood Center on Naper Blvd. A 61-year-old female employee was approached in the parking lot by a man with a handgun, who then stole her purse and her gray 2011 BMW X5 and fled southbound on Naper Boulevard. The suspect is described as a clean-shaven, teenaged black male, approximately 5’6” to 5’7” and 160 pounds. Anyone with information is asked to call the Naperville Police Department at (630) 420-6666 and ask for the Investigations Division.

Singing Valentines

To celebrate Valentine’s Day the Chorus of DuPage is delivering signing Valentine’s throughout town. Singing everything from The Beatles to Jason Mraz, members of the group are serenading people as a Valentines surprise from a loved one.

Native Back in Town

Jen Widerstrom, a Naperville native and trainer on NBC’s The Biggest Loser, will be in town on Friday to discuss her first book “Diet Right for Your Personality Type.” Taking place at 6pm at Community Christian Church, the event will feature Jen in conservation with her former Naperville North High School health teacher. Girls Basketball

Regional girls basketball tipped off last night for our local teams. Metea Valley, Neuqua Valley and Naperville North were all victorious and will move on to the regional semi finals. Metea upended Oswego 58-44 and will face Minooka on Wednesday. Neuqua took down East Aurora 60 to 51 and will challenge top seed Benet Academy tonight at 6pm. Naperville North defeated Plainfield South 53-29 and will take on crosstown rival Naperville Central on Wednesday. Waubonsie Valley saw its season come to an end after a loss to a tough Joliet West team, 59 to 35.
